OT: I got into UF Grad School

Somewhat off topic, but I have been accepted in University of Florida's Graduate School for my Masters of Education. What does this have to do with Vegas you ask? Well, along with my application and written bio, I submitted a video that consisted of interviews with colleagues (teachers), some of my past students, mentors, etc... All edited with Vegas.

In the acceptance letter, they included a side note saying how creative and imaginative my video was and that the concepts I used was what got me in otherwise I was no different than the other 2000 applicants. Tehy also mentioned that they would like to discuss with me the process in which I completed my work so that they can pass this along to other students with the hopes of in the future using video resumes to secure job interviews.

Man, does it feel good when hard work finally pays off. Even better, I finally get to attend the school that I have always grown up idolizing. Thats right, I am now a Florida Gator more than ever.

Go Gators!
Go Vegas!

Great stuff, P!

Who came in second? Nobody remembers.

It's always fun to be the first to do something new.

And even more so when it gives you the result you've been working so hard for.

Congratulations!

Congrats Patrick!

I'll come visit when I move to Fla!

I helped a co-worker about a year ago by doing a DVD slideshow (with Screenblast Movie Studio) of her daughter's artwork to send with her artist college applications - She got in to the school of her choice and they commented on the DVD as really a great idea.

Congratulations and good luck.

FWIW, I did sports video compilations for three high school students applying to undergraduate college last year, each looking for a sports scholarship. All three brought back similar stories to yours about how the video helped them get into the school of their choice. Like you, I extend much of the credit to Vegas for helping me produce something that looks far more professional than my meager artistic skills would otherwise allow.

Dont start until next semester. I wish I could get me some tix for the FSU game but I have to wait til next school year to score some student tix. Other than that, Ill only get season tix if I become a booster.

At least the UF-FSU game will be on CBS in HD.

Really good news. Yes, indeed--- excellent, excellent. And spiffing, also, as Grazie said. Get yerself a Fosters, mate.

It's nice to hear of the achievement of a goal long sought. Good hunting.
