OT: I got into Valencia Film School!!!!

This will be one busy fall for me guys. I enrolled in University of Phoenix for my Masters degree in Computer Information Systems to help further my teaching career. I also decided now it was time to attend film school as well. So I applied to Valencia and enrolled in the Associates degrees for Film Production and also for Digital Media Technology Production.

From what I understand, I will get to intern at Universal Studios which is only 5 minutes away from me.

Im totally jacked. If anyone else went to Valencia, I would love to chat about what I can expect.

Thanks.

From what I have heard is that they educate cutting on Final Cut Pro. I hope thats not true. Heck, I dont even own a Mac so wont be able to study/work as much at home.

Universal is a great place to work.. it's rather funny halting production as the tour busses go by.. everyone looking for a famous face. It's almost like being in a zoo exhibit.

If you're enrolled in the University of Phoenix then how can you attend Valencia in Orlando at the same time? Are you doing some kind of split-screen thing that allows you to appear to be in two places simultaneously?

University of Phoenix online. Getting my Masters distance education wise. IMO, a lot harder to get a degree long distance because you dont have a teacher in a classroom to use as a crutch. Pretty much self learn all of the courses. Im pretty sure I can handle the workload, at least I hope.

I guess you've never been a lucky recipient of the University of Phoenix's spam. ;-) It's a bit of a misnomer, as they have campuses all over the country, as well as online classes.

Acidsex,

In terms of time, you may want to start thinking about how much time you will spend outside of class when you are making films. I don't know how much production you will do your first semeser, but expect to spend a lot of time working on fims, yours and your classmates.

Time Management will be the biggest thing. I think I should be ok at least for the first semesterbecause from what I see, its mainly alot of history of film type classes.

Either way, I should learn alot and it should be a lot of fun.
