i want one. That looks awsome... :) Who needs a boss key when you can do a computer-to-boss launch. :)

Even better, set it up so it can be controlled from a different computer. Put a webcam on it. Remote attacking unsuspecting family/coworkers. :D

Holy Cow - USB Missile Launcher rocks!

Of course how many can you hook up to your computer....what is the theoretical limit of USB ports on one machine? What if this starts an office USB Missile Launcher arms race? What if there is a USB Missile Launcher gap in your company?!?! The mind reels!

Scary times my friends....scary times.....

I'd love to be there when Douglas tries to get that and a laptop past the TSA as carry on luggage.

When I'm bored I play with a homemade blowgun using a copper pipe and paper darts, really fun. Sad thing is that blowguns are illegal in Canada...

When blowguns are outlawed, only outlaws will have blowguns ...

What size are the warheads?
Can one burn someone’s whole desk up or just torch a hair piece?

Hehe I doubt blowguns is the weapon of choice for outlaws... Funny thing is that anyone can go at the local hardware store and buy a bow that can be lethal, but I can make a blowgun out of parts in my kitchen... Anyways, that's pretty OT :P

Yoyodyne, i believe the limit is 127 USB devices. Unfortunately each hub counts as a device too, so if you use 4-port hubs you actually only get three more connections out of each one. Still, that would allow about 95 missile launchers. If you can find 8 port hubs then you should be able to get 111. At 3 missiles each that's 333 locked and loaded.

Now ... how many of us office workers have 2 PCs or more on our desk? OK, i'm atypical in that i'm a sysadmin at a software company, but i have 4 plus my personal laptop. Hmmmm, that brings my simultaneous launch capability up to 1,665. Oooooh, the engineering department had better beware. They're right on the other side of my cubical wall.

But seriously, guys, we really need to find a useful task for this thing.

I know...

Remember before we had email, we had all these little pink paper thingys ("While You Were Out") circulating around the office? We could put a launcher on the receptionist's desk, and she could just attach the messages with a rubber band, dial in the coordinates for a specific cubicle, and let fly.

I'd call it RocketMail. Not faster, but more fun than email.

We could add a wireless lav to one and fire it over to someones cubilcle to listen in.

? just a silly thought.

Is there anything other than silly thoughts in this thread?
