OT image preview in a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W330

Hope you can help I tried a Google search and nothing stood out.

My friends Sony Steady Shot DSC-W330 changes the vertical previews to a smaller "postage stamp size" after copying to my PC. He is upset thinking my PC is altering the images he has.

I say it is a preview/copy/review quirk issue with his camera. He does not have a PC just a viewer or 2 but does not want the verticals that small in either case.

Does anybody know anything about this problem?

I need to work with his extra images but not until we understand what is happening.

Thanks,
Bill

Do you mean when you view them in Vegas' preview window? This is Vegas' normal behavior to fig the entire picture within the frame. You can use Pan/Crop to change this. If you right-mouse-button click within the cropping frame and choose "match output aspect" the picture will change to filling the frame side-to-side instead of top to bottom, though of course by having the top & bottom cropped off.

Thanks for your fast responce.
No, this has nothing to do with Vegas.
This is when I give him back the media card and then he wants to view those images in the camera. They are suddenly shrunk down, as compared to when he first viewed the new images.

That is the problem.

Bill

Is this a new camera for your friend? I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-WX70 (neat little camera by the way). It allows me to view photos as

Images that fill the entire screen
Images with a "filmstrip" border
Multiple postage stamp sizes thumbnails on the screen
Teensy weensy thumbnails on a date timeline

I copy stuff back and forth to the memory card without anything strange happening. I'm thinking you friend may need to play around with the menu until he finds the full screen viewing mode. Also the Cybershot has a build in manual/tutorial so that may help.

Hi and thanks! I will pass on your thoughts to him. Perhaps he needs to set a viewing mode that would get the verticals back to the size he's used to.
In this case "entire screen" or 'full size."

I was just thinking I could probably locate a manual online. I have found .pdf's for a printer back in Win 98 days that I had bought at a yard sale.

Thanks,
Bill
