OT: Impression DVD

With 5.1 DD audio about to become a reality for us low budget folks (thanks to SoFo) I have been looking at DVD authoring packages that support the import of 5.1 AC3. Reel DVD supports it. I have also found that Pinnacle Impression DVD Pro at $399 will import it and multiple audio tracks as well. The question is ...

Does anyone have any experience with Impression DVD Pro? There were rumors that it was unstable. Pinnacle products have been that way at times. What experience have you had?

Until ULEAD or someone similar adds the support it sounds like an option but nothing is better than user reports.

I don't have any experience with it, but I have a lot of experience with Studio7, another Pinnacle product. My "Impression" with Pinnacle is that the software is somewhat tender, but also that the message boards are nearly as good as this one. Surf on over to Pinnacle and see what users are saying on the boards. If you get lots of angst and screaming, then that's a pretty clear indicator.

I had heard that the earlier version of Impression was a disaster, but the newer version was supposed to have cleaned up many of the problems.
