this article, which says that a 4-processor chip will be coming out from Intel around the first of the year. A test system built around the chip is not only significantly faster than the blindingly-fast Conroe (dual core) Intel chip, but also the article used a Vegas render to compare the two systems. Dual-core Conroe: 381 seconds needed; Quad-core: 255 seconds needed. That's a pretty significant difference, and I'm also glad to see Vegas getting some well-deserved attention.
