Super!

In fact, I just lit an interview today. I didn't conduct the interview but as a frequent observer I have soem observations:

Put a little light on the interviewer so that the interviewee can see who they're talking too.

Get everyone else out of the interviewee's sight. Otherwise their eyes will dart around.

If you aren't shooting but need to be in the sightline area to watch the monitor get behind the cameraperson so that you're out of the sightline.

If you are the interviewer and aren't going to be in the final movie try phrasing your questions to get a story out of the talent.

"How do you like XYZ?" should be "Tell me why you like XYZ?" (Never "Do you like XYZ?")

"Tell me about..." seems like a good phrase to elicit a story.

People who have written books and then lectured on them will tell you the same story over and over again. It's hard to get a new story out of them.
