The "Homemade 35mm Adapter" thread over on the DVinfo.com site has been truly monumental . . apart from the ingenuity of everybody . .is this a record in the life of the Internet?

The content is fabulous for a film-head . . I truly applaud the input over there . .

So far it's had nearly 60,000 views . . incredible!

. . . . .. . Here it is

It will take up a fair bit of your day . . .but well worth it . . you may even find more use of Vegas as a result . . .

Grazie

I have been keeping tabs on that, it is pretty amazing. I have tried to sign up to post over there too but they won't allow me to post...I can log in but not post. Pretty stupid. But they can live without me. :)

Lets start our own...

"Homemade 35mm Adapter"

I GUARANTEE any home-made 35mm adapter of any type is a complete, useless piece of garbage.

Well, gotta go, I'm making a pair of home-made mirrored contact lenses in my garage, can't wait to try 'em out!

"I GUARANTEE any home-made 35mm adapter of any type is a complete, useless piece of garbage. "

...and I GUARANTEE that's one of the most assinine statements I've read online in a while (though the competition's fierce).

Maybe you'd care to inform us how you'd resolve the words "piece of garbage" and the footage Agus, and then Aldus both got from their adapters.

Or, did you just miss the footage completely? Here's Agus's footage, from a design crude by the latest efforts: http://ideaspora.net/maseratitest.wmv

And here's a relatively new clip, from the static solution currently being improved upon: http://ideaspora.net/aldu35/Spring.wmv

Here's the beginnings of building the adapter for a GL1/GL2: http://ideaspora.net/aldu35

Sorry, but the prize for "the thread that never ends" does not go to that thread on DVinfo.

Just a quick check around the net provided some threads of somewhat higher post counts. For instance....
"What Does your Desktop look like?" (2,044 posts, 65,000+ views)

OR

"G-gnome's Orac³ - Part 2" (1324 posts, 649,000+ views) - a fairly interesting computer project for anyone interested.

And these are just two samples from a single website! :) However, that mini35 adapter thread IS very interesting and should not be ashamed of itself, as bigger is not always better ;p

Howdy from Texas,

<< I have tried to sign up to post over there too but they won't allow me to

The registration process at DV Info Net has two stages. A person can sign up and log in, but their account is not active until one of our administrators (live human beings) can review the account and validate it. We have a strict policy regarding usernames. We don't allow anonymous handles and require real, full names. If a person chooses to register with an anonymous handle, then we don't validate the account and that person cannot post until they contact us with their updated account info.

Using real names online is not for everybody and we understand that. DV Info Net does not intend to be all things to all people. It is a small boutique for a certain type of user. We do not wish to attract individuals who are not comfortable with our real-names policy. There are a variety of other DV message boards that serve anonymous purposes well.

The Agus35 thread in question is the longest thread we've ever had, but is by no means the largest on the web. Check out http://boards.theforce.net/FanForce_Community/b10022/8742199/p406/?10132 which has more than 10,000 responses spread across over 400 pages. Hope this helps,
