OT: Less expensive HD lenses in the future

Active lens technology may be the only way we'll ever see high quality HD lenses that cost less than a family car.

This article talks about the first application of this to improve eye sight beyond the average 20/20 (1.0 overseas). The U.S. Department of Defense wrote a check for $3.5M to get this researched for possible battlefield use.

It may be a while before this reaches B&H, but the concept could stimulate a lot of research to come up with high-MTF active lenses, which could revolutionize this last vestiges of super exclusivity, the $150,000 HD zoom lenses, $110,000 HD prime lens kits, etc..
