OT: LOL Vegas sale

I came across a site having a sale today only on Vegas 5. I had to share because today only it is $399.99 plus a SONY mail in rebate of $50.00, according to the site There has never been nor will there ever be a deal this good on Vegas Video 5.0 again!

And that is all fine and dandy bit this is the part that really made me laugh:

INCLUDED FREE DURING THIS SALE

THey forgot to mention you can get this stuff for "free" by downloading it anyway. (Well, all except the VISION SERIES Vol 1 stuff) But in this case it sounds like they are selling Boxed versions so this comes on the CD...so really, if this stuff is only free today than they are either burning their own CDs witnout the added stuff and selling them or charging more for these "free" items anyway. And no it is not a store in Brooklyn.

ACID Screenblast is not free. It is the version before ACID Music Studio 5 and cost $69 when new. It probably goes for around $45 now that ACID Music Studio is out. They are probably just clearing out their old stock.

As you pointed out, Vision Series is not free it costs $69. So there is at least $100 worth of free software in that bundle. There are a lot of deals that have Vegas with the Studio version of ACID or Sound Forge that look like they were packaged together. Lots of dealers do this.

Yeah the addition of the lite version of Acid is nice.

Also this leads me to think that the accurate rumors that Vegas 6 will be coming out at NAB are accurate.

>>>ACID Screenblast is not free<<<

My bad, though it was Acid Xpress. But it could be XPress because they also say Graffitti is included - they don't say it is the "LTD" version and I really doubt they are offering the full version of Graffitti for "free".

You should e-mail them.

Heck, I just got an e-mail fron Sony today offering SF 8 with CDA for $280.

I can go to B&H, get SF 7+NR 2 + CDA for $250 . Add on the SF8 upgrade for $150 (total $400) and it's a BETTER deal the Sony's sale price (if you want NR2, and who wouldn't!)

So I could see them doing something like that. "LTD" could be in the fine print somewhere.
