Tell me Grazie, is it just Mother Nature, or is the UK temperature being boosted by the current embarrassment in 10 Downing Street?

. . . erm . . . Mystie, let me translate. In the Uk when we say we're going for "a beer", it's an excuse for getting blathered!!! But yes, at these temps ONE cold beer just doesn't cut it - yeah? Bottoms up dear boy! And Cheers . . .

Grazie

Just curious... on the flip side how COLD has it got in London in the winter?

My wife's brother is in the UK (from the US) scattering his parent's ashes. They came over here fifty years ago for the work (tough to get work after WWII), but stayed in the Los Angeles area because they liked the heat. Too bad they coudn't have hung on for a while longer and made the trip in the flesh. They would have loved those temperatures.

Do you Brits HAVE cold beer? I thought you drank your drafts at room temperature.

Of course, room temperature is a relative term, I suppose.

So Grazie...It's been over 4 hours since you had your first beer.
Can you still read this thread, or are you still wiping the monitor to get rid of the blurriness?? :)
