ot: looking for tc calculator....

searched the net, but can't find what i want. maybe someone here knows better?

i have a huge number of photo montages to create (with various number of pics in each, all with 5 frame diss. between pics.) that have to be dropped into a variety of preset durations. all pics have to be of equal duration for each montage.

i know, i could work the whole thing out in frames, but i'm lazy ;-) just thought there might be a calculator for doing such things...

I did find have trouble finding a calculator that'd even do time...
One could probably nut something out in say Excel using VBA.
I do know the broadcasters used to have bespoke calculators hanging around that did exactly what you're after.

Question though, why do you need to futz around with TC?
Make each montage its own project. In Vegas you can set fade length and still image duration. Having done that drop all the stills into project, create new project, change fade length and duration as needed, rinse and repeat. When all done bring all the monatges together by nesting them into one master project.

I downloaded and installed one years ago.

It was built by MediaChance, the one-man outfit that sold the brilliant DVDlabPro DVD authoring program that I use constantly. Alas, it no longer appears on their site.

But I did find it here. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same utility I installed years ago, but it looks like it at first glance.

The MediaChance pdf that describes its use is here.

Leslie, Have you tried VASST Ultimate S Lite? You can make a region for the duration of the time you need to fill, point Ultimate S Lite to the pictures you want to fill it with, and it fits them all for you. No math! You can do the same thing with "fit to music". You can use it for 15 days for free and see if it's worth a purchase.
