Leslie,

I got a chuckle out of that, but I'm guessing there's more than one "inside joke" in that parody. Here in the U.S. we see these type of adverts using pitchmen to sell worthless crap all the time. The latest star in these commercials is "Vince".

Here's the latest that we need to endure. Seems like it comes up on the TV every 5 minutes. Here's the link: Warning to US based folks: Do not click on the link - you've seen it a thousand times. It's Vince hawking the Schticky

not sure whether to thank you for that or not jerry ;-)

fortunately i don't think we've been invaded to the extent of 'sticky', and those that have seeped across the ocean are more often than not dub with aussie accents (though just as annoyingly so as their US originals) - i think there's an inherent aversion to 'american consumerism' over here - NOT that we don't follow the trend, only we do so with an ocker accent mate.

gud on ya sport....

"i think there's an inherent aversion to 'american consumerism' over hereHa! There are many things that we Americans can be proud of. I can't speak for the entire country, but it seems to me this is not one of them. Sometimes worth a laugh - until it gets so repetitive you can't stand it any more.

Never seen anything quite that over-the-top.

My wife was standing over my shoulder while I was watching , so I had to choose the cheese. Bummer.

Jerry, you just brightened my day because I've never heard of the Schticky and never seen that infomercial. I feel like I somehow won the lottery!

Who knew missing out would feel so good?

Leslie, loved it. there are also a bunch of others in Lithuanian (I think).

We get infomercials with Australian hawkers here in the U.S. I think most of the audience can't tell an Aussie accent from a British one and just assume it all means "class".

Hadn't seen this one, either.

Love that he at least has a sense of humor about the arrest! Takes a lot to make me chuckle aloud, but the mug shot did it.
