Watched a bit of the downhill women's racing yesterday, was impressed by the camera work. The camera was elevated and partially followed the skier as she raced downhill. I had assumed they installed elevated cameras that were controlled by cables, like those at football games. I'd be astounded if they used drones--the shots were amazing.

yep, drones rock. I plan to use one for a city helicopter shot - WAAAAY cheaper and way more flexible

Both cable controlled cameras and drones were used. From time to time I saw both in use over the course. I couldn't tell whether the drones were four or six rotor. The camera on cable looked pretty much like what we see in NFL games.

I guess it's not illegal to use a drone camera for commercial purposes in Russia?

One could see the 6 arms often in shadows on the snow. "Snowflake shape " !!!
