OT - Met Grazie On River Thames

randy-stewart wrote on 8/9/2008, 4:15 PM
After several years of getting advice from and corresponding with Grazie via the Vegas forum, we finally met on the historical South Bank of the River Thames by the film institute in London this week. What a great evening of cold brew and Vegas talk surrounded by amazing historical sites. Grazie is a fantastic host, not only very knowledgeable about Vegas and editing in general, but also full of knowledge about London. He guided us on a walking tour through part of London and several of the old market places where outside theater is performed. What a great night, one we will never forget! Many thanks to Grazie for taking time out of his very busy schedule to meet and be such a gracious host. Just wish I had brought my camera. Grazie, how about posting a photo?

This is a great example of how the talented people on this forum are so willing to give of themselves. Many thanks to all.

Randy

And what a very fine judge of character you are too! And thank you, it was a great evening.

Yet again, we both celebrated in just how amazing this INTERNET stuff is, when it comes "real". Bringing complete strangers together, who, under the then circumstances, say 10 years back, would never ever had envisaged as being a possibility.

And yes, we have a very fine Forum here, with massive talent spread over many decades, many countries and, for some, outpost-galaxies!

Grazie

ps, I have sent you a "cheeky-chappie" photo!

I guess I'll have to look you up next time I'm in London Grazie! You don't mind if the Mrs. and my 8 toddlers stay at your place for a few weeks do you? Maybe we could borrow your car for a trip through the chunnel and and a euro tour? This internets IS great! heh, heh... OK, I'll leave a few of the kids home.

No probs Jim. Just tell me where you live and I'll send my marauding family around. You not got an objection to descendants of the mighty Vlad the Impaler? Don't worry, they're gonna come anyway.

You say 8 huh? Must get a bigger stew pot . . .

Just spotted this thread.

I couldn't agree more with the sentiments expressed.

I, too, caught up with Grazie when I was in London in April/May. I didn't appreciate just how many pubs there were in a square mile all serving different brews - we tried them all!!

It was a real hoot! Thanks again, Grazie.

With your permission, I could post a couple of fun pics I took.
