It really depends on what you want to do, but for a really sweet general-purpose stereo mic, I highly recommend the Audio Technica AT-825.

We've put Rode NTG-1 on them where I work.
Personally I don't plan on putting one on mine, if I do probably a Sanken. By the time I get a matte box and french flag a mic is going to be kind of blocked. Plus a mic on a camera is far from ideal and the camera does make some noise.
Also the mic holder ain't worth much on the EX1, they do snap off!

There's a picture there of the custom mount I made for the NTG-1 but it'll work for any shotgun.

Thanks Bob. Taken care of this issue. I'll stick with my Electrovoice on a stand next to the camera (what I do with the FX1).
