For the price, I don't think it can be beat. I have 4 of them at the college I work for and have been very happy with them. They're 2 years old know and look as good as they day I put them in.
I know a few folks here (such as Grazie) bought one on my recommendation and they've been pleased with them.
John (aka craftech) had a problem earlier this year with a brand new one but a qucik trip to JVC service fixed him up.
You're welcome Jay. I'm sure it'll work out just fine as a replacement.
Ignore Grazie's "rantings" about it though as he forgot to mention that Vegas was one of the BEST purchases he ever made :-)
Holy cow...! If it comes with the Official Grazie Seal of Approval, then it has to be good!
Actually, I did find one at B&H Photo in New York. Unfortunately, they charge twice what everyone else does for shipping, so I'm scouring the Internet for another retailer.
Always felt it was a cheap shot trying to make money on shipping.
Jay,
I really like this monitor. It is so easy to color correct with it.
As mentioned I did get a unit that wasn't properly calibrated so I dropped it off at the JVC authorized Northeast service center in Pine Brook, New Jersey. They not only calibrated it properly, but they kept it until the following Monday because they wanted a field rep to check it just to make sure.
I bought it from a dealer I have done business with before:
I did say ONE of the best purchase decisions - for it then showed me just HOW good Vegas is! 8-)
Jay, just enthusiasm on my side . .
Oh, BTW, terrestrial TV looks good on it too!!! I have setup my Mission Control system allowing the BBC to come on screen. Purely when I'm R&R - of course!
I don't want to change the topic too much, but does anyone have any knowledge on monitors with HD-SDI inputs? And for that matter, PCI cards with HD-SCI in/out ports.
Just trying to figure out the best way to preview HD images from the Canon XH G1.
