OT: mpeg2 to vhs

For reasons too embarrasing to get into, I may need to dub some VHS tapes from an edited straight play dvd, any one done this, how bad will it be ?

Any opinions appreciated.

I’ve done this and it looks perfectly fine. DVD quality is higher than VHS quality. I had made some DVD’s for my relatives and wouldn’t you know one wanted a VHS tape (there’s always one). I just plugged the output of my DVD player into the input of my VHS tape recorder and let it run. The tape looked fine.
