When you say Evander "stopped for a chat," the audience expects to see him do two things:

1) stop
and
2) chat

Both of these elements seem to be missing here, so you lose your audience, probably for some time.

If you're trying to make a joke, use a smiley (and before posting, consider if you're really making a contribution).

When you have something worth watching - let us know...

I'm going to go with that he meant it as a joke.
Unfortunately it wasted our time and wasn't funny. But different people have different senses of humor.
