OT: Name That Tune

In 2007 the BBC televised a series called Pole to Pole featuring Michael Palin. During one of the episodes, a particular tune was played in the background which I have been unable to find any information on. So as a last resort, I thought that if I uploaded a short clip of the soundtrack somebody on here may recognise it. I have tried several 'on-line' services that offer to identify music and songs but none of them could identify this tune:

Edit: The stills are not part of the televised programme. I included them with the backing track so that I could upload it to YouTube as a 'video'.

Are you certain this isn't an "original" score? At least in the uploaded video, the sounds used for the orchestral sections sound like fairly average GM samples. I hear motifs that sound a bit like Gershwin, but much too simplistic for his style of arrangements.

Soundhound identified it. It's "Riptide" by Robert Palmer.
