Mine was shipped from Edison, NJ and I got it in one day. It came via UPS and was wrapped in heavy bubble wrap, then placed in a box of syrofoam nuggets as well. Packed to withstand slingshot delivery.

Did the NEC drive come with any burning software?

I have a copy of Nero Express on my system, but it came along with a Lite-on 16X DVD burner I recently installed and the software is hard "linked" to that drive, so it will only work with that drive.

In fact, I have an older, licensed version of Nero that was disabled and uninstalled when I put this new drive in my system (and installed the bundled Nero Express), so I can no longer burn to my 52X CD-R drive -- Nero Express won't allow it :-(
