OT: Need tripod L-bracket to shoot sideways

Coursedesign wrote on 8/9/2009, 10:49 AM
Anyone know where I can find a sturdy L-bracket to put on an O'Connor tripod so I can shoot sideways with a large Sony broadcast camera?

I have Googled extensively, couldn't find it.

The next step would be one of the expensive outfits that serve Hollywood productions here, but I thought I should check here first.

The reason I want it? To shoot someone against a greenscreen in SD for rotated insertion into a camera-less HD project (all CGI).

Spot,

Thanks for the referrals, appreciated!

I checked all of the ones you listed, but couldn't find any L-plates that can handle a 14 lb. 22"x14"x10" broadcast camera, they seem to be mostly about cameras that one might want to attach to one's head.

I'll call a studio outfit in Hollywood that specializes in camera support, just hope that my wallet won't just shrivel up on hearing the price (although the local Hollywood support companies here are really hurting after so many productions have moved to the highest tax credit bidders among other states).

Under $300 from memory.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm looking for!

"New for 2009," guess I got lucky here...

The say Band Pro, B&H, Markertek, etc. carry Spidey's products, but apparently not online, so I'll have to call tomorrow.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with an HDV camera in order to have an image that is high enough resolution so that I could tilt and crop the image in various ways without losing resolution.
