Hey Darryl,
Had the same problem last week. Kept quitting at various time during d/l. Eventually I downloaded WS-FTP Home adition and connected in to one of their FTP servers, rather than using the d/l button.

Advantage of the FTP client is that it is able to resume if the d/l breaks at any time.

Login as anonymous and use your e-mail addy as the pwd, if you decide to go that route.

Cheers,
Tom

I'm on DSL and it only came in at 5.8k/sec. Took forever.

I am on broadband cable modem. My download rates on Nero were only slightly higher than telephone modem rates. It's ridiculous to try and download the six updates with their server in that state. It took me several hours to get all six updates, and in the end it made no difference. I was able to prepare an HDV project in Vegas, frameserve it to Recode 2, get good playback in WMP10 (but not Showtime 2) in 16:9 aspect, but the audio is out of synch with the video. I have no idea what to do about that.

Go to www.majorgeeks.com, they have it mirrored on their servers. MUCH faster transfer rates.

You nailed it. What was it they used to say on the "MASH" show re dry martiniis?
"Very dry is drinking straight up while looking at a picture of the guy that invented vermouth." Ha. Very dry indeed. (I'm so happy now). Darryl

I haven't read all of this thread, but I had the same problem today and found a way to get the download.

I clicked in check for updates in Nero 6 and it gave me a list of two. Clicking on one of these files started Firefox which is my default browser. I started the download from there and it was very slow at best, but would freeze and die before completion. A couple tries were the same.

Then I remembered I had a similar problem with one other download a couple weeks back. I copied the ftp:target location and ran a program I got a long time back called Download Express. It ran a lot faster and completed 1st try.

This is the link location from the about screen....
http://www.metaproducts.com/mp/mpProducts_Detail.asp?id=18

The one I have says free for non-commercial use... I think that still applies. Spyware checkers have never kicked on it, so I think it is a good product in that reguard.

So it seems that some ftp sites have download issues with Firefox. I think I tried IE on the other file I had problems with earlier and IE wasn't good either. Not sure what it all means, but there seems to be some compatibility issue related to what software is running on the PC end for some download sources.
