OT:New Improved Flatscreen LCDs due in April

I was reading in my New Scientist magazine and ran across this article talking about LCD TV's and the problem they all have with angled viewing washing out the colors and the picture growing dim the further to one side or the other you view.

Well, Sony and Samsung came up with an answer for this problem- they are eliminating the "halfway on" state of the image cells that produce red, green, and blue and they are replacing all cells with smaller cells that are always either on or off- no "halfway on" states. This will effectively eliminate the problem.

It did not state what TV models would be equiped with this new cell array or what countries they would be available in (I would assume that since New Scientist is an English publication it was geared towards England or Europe, but maybe the US as well?).

There was a post last week I believe where a guy was asking for advice to give to a friend on a LCD TV as he was looking to purchase. Hopefully he hasn't bought one yet and can wait til April to get one of these.
