Travelling much, there are situations where I cannot use my Sony CX690 or even my HX9V. Imagine pointing a big camera towards people in the Prague subway or in a market at the Thailand countryside. For these times I have been using several small cameras from Sony's T and TX series - right now the TX55.

The TX55 has an astonishing Active Steady Shot anti-shake for blur-free handheld recordings and does full HD at 1080 50i 25 Mbps.
Having done countless recordings with this camera I can say that it works very well.
As the lens does not pop out at use the camera is quite insensitive to the environment, to your pocket etc.

In the newest TX model, the TX200V, released today and available in March the Sony engineers have succeeded in squeezing even a 1080 50 progressive mode (28 Mbps AVCHD) into such a great little camera.

I think I am the first entry on their pre-order list :- )
