Hi,

Just wanted to let you all know that there's a new release for virtual sets at:

http://www.realitysets.com , just $149 til Friday for them. Basically it's video footage of
"lifestyles of the rich and famous" that you can use in chromakey sets, like www.seriousmagic.com 's great Ultra program.

I just bought mine now, satisfied customer, that's one of his sets I have in my video blog at www.daytradingu.com/tradingvideoblog.htm

I use Vegas to create the final video, after keying it in Ultra, then I convert to .flv for streaming video infomercials.

Anyways, just a heads-up on a solid resource, if you do keying ...

Ken,
do you think anyone would be interested in layered sets?

Say background on one track and desk in another so the talent can 'walk' behind the desk.

yes, I think that's what he has in this one, if I read the site correctly; eg includes layers so you can do the talent shoot, overlay/key it on the background, then superimpose the layer (eg desktop, couch, whatever) on top of the talent's legs, for a 3-d embedded effect...

I haven't done any keying in Vegas, but I'll likely do that 3rd step in vegas, after doing the first/primary key in Ultra..

Nice Ken,

The downloaded .wmv filelooks a lot better than the streamed version. The shortcomings of the .flv file is evident in the motion artifacts one can see when you are moving your hands. The background works very well with the subject matter. Nice job.

John

When I go to that website and play their Vol 3 demo the audio is missing the dialog of the narrator. All that is present is the horrendous bass heavy background music while you watch the guy's mouth move with nothing coming out of it. Pretty poor.

thx re the wmv... not sure why I have the hands with those artifacts in them? I think I rendered from ultra as I usually do, with lower field first/interlaced, 32-bit avi with alpha as usual... then converted to flv with flixpro as usual...

for the realitysets, the guy talking w/o voice is normal for demos for that type of product, main thing is to show people what the key looks like w/talent in it... I like the sets he has re mansion etc.. is good for lifestyle type product/wealth shots, I'm going to use them in my next major internet infomercial, which is a "big deal" for me, so they have my vote o confidence... they look real, which is important... since they are.. :p

here's the screencaps of the sets:

and no I have no affiliation w/him, as with vasst.com and bhphotovideo.com et al, I'm simply a satisfied customer..

and the guy Paul who runs the place seems like a nice person, very responsive, answered my questions.

Ken, Ultra has an overlay track. Just drop a video or image with transparency in the Overlay box and it will display in front of your keyed video. No need to use Vegas for this.
