It's cool that their coming out with faster single layer DVD burners, but it just really doesn't make sense when they're trying to push the newer dual-layer format at the same time (which hasn't yet progressed past 2x burning).

Unfortunately by the time there are actual 16x DVD+/-R's for sale, they'll be pushing the newer "faster" burners.

The article says: "The product, which has two layers that take the maximum storage capacity up to 8.5 gigabytes or four hours of DVD quality video"

So it is a Dual layer burner.

Vighnesh, I thought "the product" was referring to the dual layer DVD media. The burner has no "storage capacity."

Still, you might be right.

Hey, they can push fast burners all they want. They did the same thing with CD burners, and they became as expensive as toothpicks because people were buying them. :)
