I understand there are fair use options and think I have a basic understanding. But...

As a guitar player I have collected several DVD's and CD's that teach you how to play a hit song note for note. Some of them break down all the various guitar parts. Very few of them include any used by permission notices. Is this an example of fair use by virtue of being an educational tool? I ask because I have toyed with the idea of producing some myself.
