OT: Olympics Ice Skating Tripod?

If anyone is watching olympic figure skating, I'm wondering if the camera operators are using tripods or are the cameras remotely operated. The camera movements are so fluid that I'm wondering what kind of system they're using.

They have a boom crane that extends out over the ice. Sometimes right after a performance, you can see the boom retracting back into the stands.

They probably have a couple of these.
