Am in middle of prep for NAB lectures - need to open Architect 2 files in Arch 3.
Am getting "There is no disk in drive" error.
File opens in Arch 2.
Need it in Arch 3 since everything else is in Arch 3.
You know there's a problem when people doing presentations FOR Sony can't even get tech support from them :)
I don't know if any of these will be of help, but here's a few suggestions:
- Check the settings of the project. (Could be a depricated setting in DVDA 3)
- Move source media to another location/disk (could just be a quirky disk error)
- Open project in DVDA 2 and 'Save As' a new DAR file in a new location (file could be corrupted to the extent that DVDA 2 can manage to open it, but DVDA 3 won't)
Crazy thing - I've got the project on an outboard drive which I link with firewire (My SOP).
It would not open on my "new" computer at all (see error above).
But when I took it to an older model it opened in two (which I resaved) and then opened just fine in three. When I moved the resaved filet back to the newer, cleaner and more powerful computer it still would not open.
Go figure (actually if someone could figure it out, I'd be so thankful).
Meanwhile, of course, I am finishining the project on the older computer.
Thanks for help and suggestions.
BTW -RE: My "testst"
My tests are all given by Your Clients.
Now, I hope to see as many of you as possible out at the show.
Don't be shy, and do introduce yourselves.
I won't be at the Vegas party, and it's killing me. (Best event of the entire show IMO)
As luck would have it, my latest movie, "Cowboys of Florida" is premiering the same night, at the same exact time, in Boca Raton, FL.
So I would appreciate some good Vegas vibes sent out, since it's a finalist in the Palm Beach International Film Festival, where its having its first showing. It was cut entirely on Vegas, of course. In fact, produced over a period of three years, it was cut on 4.0, 5.0 and 6c.
I really do enjoy meeting all of you guys so if you're at NAB I'll be staying at the Luxor hotel on Sat, Sun and lecturing on Monday (catching the redeye out of town Mon nite). Please look me up, leave a message, and maybe we can have a drink.
