OT ? Other Opera uses having problems in this forum?

PeterWright wrote on 9/28/2004, 2:51 AM
Since the Sony forums went down and returned yesterday, I can access the various forums using the Opera browser, but as soon as I try and open a thread, Opera crashes. Anyone else the same?

(This post was made using Internet Explorer, an alternative browser from some company or other .....)

Works fine for me as well (Version 7.23, Build 3227 on XP).

Thanks. That's weird - I also have 7.23 Bld 3227 no Java XP.

Ah well, IE6 it is for the time being ...... (I just tried opening this very thread in Opera and it crashed again ... yet other non-Sony Vegas forums working normally!)

Nope you are not alone.

Happened to me last night at home and has happened many times before. Other that this forum Opera is very stable.

I'm using it now at work and don't seem to have a problem (WinXP, 7.51, B3798).

It was happending before the latest sony forum shutdown.

Opera is fantastic so it is tough to live without it. Hope sony can find/fix it.

Good news - today it's working ok.
Thanks to whoever changed something .....

++++++++++++++++++++

Update - it worked an hour ago, now it's back to crashing in Opera - always happens after clicking a post header to enter the thread.

I installed Opera on my 98SE system and it crashed the computer every time it opened -- uninstalled it and still quite happy with Mozilla (I don't do IE except when necessary).

I use Opera without problems (7.54 build 3865). Mine is registered (which means no advertising).
Have no idea what your problem might be. But you should get the latest version in any case.

I shall, now that I know about it - thanks Tors.

I can't believe that as a registered purchaser of Opera, sort of involved with the internet, that no-one told me there was an update .......

and, even worse - I've just spent seven minutes on the Opera site without finding how to download the update.
Mumbles of disapproval.

Ah well - I'll find it soon ....

It's HERE, but you've probably found it already.

Thanks Tors. After a few more hiccups, I have the new update and although it crashed the first two visits, is currently working within this very thread....
