OT: Outlook Express pegging CPU

This relates to Vegas in that this problem is bringing my CPU to it's knees. Outlook Express keeps pegging my CPU. The problem began after I downloaded a bunch of mail to a local folder. I don't want to lose all my old mail, but I've got to fix this. A little program called msinm.exe seems to be the culprit. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This MAY be your problem. The following is from the Microsoft support site article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887797/en-us

Symptom 4
When you use the Microsoft Collaboration Data Object (CDO) to filter e-mail on a Microsoft Exchange server, a corrupted e-mail message on the server may cause an infinite loop when the CDO processes the message. This behavior may cause the CPU usage that is displayed in Task Manager to approach 100 percent. The CDO libraries use interfaces that are included in Outlook Express for data collection and for parsing.

This can also be caused by the OE registry getting hosed. I found a thread on this problem here (including step-by-step how to fix.

I forgot to mention that if you haven't already done so, select from the outlook express menu bar "Tools -> Options", then click on the "Maintenance" tab and select "Clean Up Now" to pack/defrag your email and news entries.
