Just tried the eval version of ver 9 lot of cool upgrades for those of us PSP users. I tried it for a couple of days and already decided to upgrade. $45 us from ver 8.
nice new features like backround removal erasure which works suprisingly well and creates nice pngs with transparency.
Better browse functions and some more tools realy nice upgrade if you ask me. I think works well as an alternative to Photoshop for Vgeas uses.

On a side note.. you hear that?...........neither do I........; )

Could you elaborate on the new features you like?

The jasc website is pretty unhelpful about this.

Three features I like are it's screen capture utility, jpeg artifact removal and the moir pattern removal. I mainly use Photoshop, but I do find Paint Shop Pro useful at times.

I didn’t upgrade from PSP8 to 9 and I’m looking for a new graphics editor instead. I couldn’t tell what new features 9 had over 8 (PSP8 already does background erase and PNG transparency). I have started to hate some of the features in PSP like when resizing the canvas, I think it should start with the current canvas size and let you change it. No, it uses the last canvas size from three projects ago, so now you have to figure out what your current canvas size is so you can type that in manually. It has the same problem with resize. It just seems to make everything very hard to do. I use it because I know my way around it but I would like to find a graphics editor that is more productive.
