I am thinking of seting up a dual boot system.
Currently my machine has WinXP media edition 2005
I am wonderiing about a few things.
A) can I set up a partition with winXP Pro on the same drive
B) do I then need to load all the programs(ie Vegas,DVDA etc) I want to use on to that partition or can I access the programs that are installed on the original drive/o\s.
thinking of using something like Acronis.
Any info would be greatly appreciated or if you can direct me to a site that might have some answers, that'd be great too!

Yes, you can install another OS on a separate partition on the same physical drive or a different physical drive. You can't have them both installed on your "C" drive, for example. When the machine boots up, you will be given the choice of which OS you would like to run.

For 99% of your programs, you will need to install them separately in the new OS. Of course, the data can be shared, just not the program installations.
