In 1969 I went to Heron Island to film a "Wild Kingdom" episode, there I met Valerie and Ron Taylor. I was aware that they had worked on "Blue Water - White Death," and had the opportunity to exchange ideas with them and admire Ron's camera, a 16/35mm Eclair. It could do 16mm, 35mm Techniscope, or full frame 35. Ron was doing an Aussie tv show as a second unit. What a fine gentleman! Tom Allen, our cohost and I spent many mornings with Val over pre breakfast coffee, being regaled with tales of the production of BWWD. On later trips to Oz, she gave us her take on their work on "Jaws" and "Blue Lagoon."
A sad loss.
