OT: PC Display for Mac Laptop External ??

This has to have been discussed before, but I'm not finding it in Search and I have a deadline...

My daughter will be acquiring a Mac laptop for her fine arts design courses. She presently has a nice Dell LCD screen with DVI and analog inputs on her PC. Will it work as an external display for the Mac? Any issues with square pixels vs rectangular?

(I'm insisting she get one of the Powerbook Pros with the Intel duo core processor.)

Thanks
RalphM

Mine works great. Dell 1905 FP and 15" MBP

Macs have been using standard DVI connections for a few years now.

MacBook Pro is great, 1680x1050 resolution LCD, and the DVI can even drive a 30" screen.

Thanks for the inputs... Looks like a MacIntel purchase will be made.
