OT: Photoshop Action for Resizing for DV

rextilleon wrote on 1/26/2006, 4:38 PM
Hey, I'm too lazy to do the work so here is the problem. I have about 400 photos some in landscape and some in portrait to resize and prepare for editing for a DVD. I tried the existing action that comes with Photoshop but found it didn't work----Does anyone have an action that they have used and could possible send to me?

Use a program like Irfanview or Xnview. They both have batch convert automation. and they are free.

I'll second the Irfanview suggestion. I've been using it for a very long time and really like it. Batch resizing can be done to a specific size or a specific % reduction. Either way, it's very quick.

FastStone Image Viewer will do the same as Irfanview. In fact, it's almost the same but with a different UI.
Plenty of choices ain't it ? :P

It's important to use the sharpen filter after resizing. In Photoshop the default setting works well and in Irfanview setting the advanced settings Sharpen to 30 will do similar sharpening as it batch resizes and recover the sharpness that's usually lost in resizing.
