That is a good deal. If I wasn't concerned about aesthetics I would get one of those, but just can't use the black bezel. Thanks, anyway, for the link.

"...capable of writing at 8X speed on DVD-R and DVD+R discs whose standard is being ratified in the DVD Forum..."

Does this mean that discs burnt at 8x speed may not have the same compatibility with players that discs burned at 1x do?

The standard is already set, I think this site just doen't have all their information updated. There are always risks when burning at higher speeds. For mastering I wouldn't go above 2X but for making copies 8X should be fine.

I have an A03 and an A06. I'm might get one of these to replace the aging A03. Jsnkc, if I might ask, have you ordered from this vendor before? Thanks.

No, but I was thinking of ordering one myself, I also have a dying A-03. I just caught it listed on the website www.gotapex.com as one of their daily deals.

I checked their resellerratings and its pretty good at 8.22 for 6 months and 8.11 lifetime. A few negative comments but nothing glaring.

I just hope the price stays that way for a few days so I can round up the cash and then I will definately order one :)

well is AO7 going to be able to burn dual layers?
anyone?

I don't think so, tadpole, I did hear Pioneer would have a dual layer burner out in June, probably the "A08?" or something like that. However I think it was an A07 the burned a DL disk with a firmware upgrade at a show recently.
