Ah man! Thanks Jeff . . I watched the "Playing for Change", and I thought, these people I know their faces . . and the sounds too. I spent 5 years about 10 miles from this "township" area in SA, Guguletu. And when I went to their site: "The Playing For Change Foundation (PFCF) is building an supporting a music school in the township of Guguletu, South Africa" it kinda brought some of it back to me.
They look like a great bunch of motivated workers. Making things better through the mix of music arts and mainstream education. Marvellous!!
Those faces say it all to me.
Thanks for an early Crimble Pressie . . . I just wish it would be better for them too.
No, I don't know the organization nor the way donations get to them. I just know the area and region.
My friend sent me the Stand By Me video and that led me to playingforchange site. So I am looking into that. He had a New Orleans connection. I did't pick up on the Guguletu clip until you mentioned it.. Funny you said crimbo pressie, I sent it to someone else and they said the same thing.
