OT: Preferred DVD media

What media do you use that gives the best results, specifically in relation to discs not playing on one DVD player or another?

Many seem to use Ritek. DVD-R.

I've used Samsung DVD-R with few problems. I seldom use DVD+R as I've had more compatiblity problems with DVD+R. Anyone else?

Are there any brands to stay away from?

I have delivered over 200 DVD's in the past year. Not one a coaster and not one complaint from a client.

I use the cheapest DVD media I can buy, usually GQ from Fry's. Almost always DVD-R, but when DVD+R is on sale, I'll buy that also. I use DVDA to burn most discs at 2X only - never faster. I include a note with each disc that warns "If your DVD player is more than two-years old, it probably will not play this disc."

The note includes my cell phone number and to date, no one has called to say their disc wouldn't play.

My experience is that the older the DVD player, the less likely that it will play recordable DVD's, and the faster you burn the discs (4X or 8X), the less reliable they are.

Othe's may have different methods that work for them, but as long as not one client has ever complained, I don't plan to change anything.

I love TDK. I used the TDK printable with the Epson printer and TDK with Neato labels. No problems ever.
