I am looking for software that will take me from conception to completion as far as the Producer job goes.

You can use VEGAS to edit dailies, get your ideas together, & your final piece.

As far as other things... what are you needing your software to do?

There's a bunch of different forms on the Dependent Films and Sonnyboo sites that might have what you're looking for.

I did a search for film production software, and alot of stuff comes up. http://www.junglesoftware.com/ for example.

I use Microsoft Project for construction project management and it could be useful, however a bit pricey and you need to customize it.

http://www.boilerplate.net/

This is what one of our clients uses, he swears by it, and he does a lot of work for National Geo, BH&G, and HBO. It sure has a lot of nice endorsements from names I recognize.

Anybody needing this overseas, don't bother with Movie Magic. This program is #1 in the category (in sales), but if somebody enters an international character, the database is clobbered and has to be sent to Movie Magic for repair by their programmers.

According to MM support for Europe, they have 4,000 angry customers there who have this problem.

I have always used File Maker. You can customize any forms you want and there are add on databases for film/production forms. They also offer many "flavors" now they didn;t when I first started using th eprogram including the Creative version. Nice article on how File Maker was used in the production of Jimmy Neutron is here: FileMaker Behind the Scenes of ‘Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, The Movie'
