OT: PS3 update: now must log in?

I use my PS3 as a media player only (I did try a few free game demos, but have not bought any). Today it said there was a required system update so I just sighed and downloaded it. Now, it behaves differently than before.

Before, I could put a DVD in with the system off, and it would turn on and start playing. That's the way I want it. Now, it turns on and does not play the DVD, it just waits for me to sign in as John or User1. Once on, if a DVD is inserted, it does auto-play. Not a major disaster, but it is a bit annoying. I don't have to sign on to my other DVD players to make them work.

I know there are some other PS3 users here... is there some way to un-set whatever got set, so it will autoplay my DVD from a cold start? Thanks!

Never mind, it turns out to be a configuration thing. If you highlight a user and hit the green triangle ("Options") you get the option to automatically log in that user. Once that is done, the unit will turn on and auto-play a disc when it is inserted, without showing you a login selection first.
