One of the guys at Survival Research Labs used to have a pulse-jet go-cart he'd drive around in shows. Yes, it'd glow red, yes it was loud as hell, but no it didn't have much acceleration from a standing start. Once it got moving it was great but it needed a push.

Then again, the point of SRL shows was Noise, Flames, Smoke, lightning, and animal carcasses wrapped around robotics. Not zero to sixty speeds.

Anyway, small jets like this are always impressive and a sure way to attract an enthusiastic crowd. Very cool.
