OT: question about the HVR 1000U

OK This might be a silly question but, I was looking through the menu and cannot find
anywhere a choice for 16:9 I read in the manual that it can do this. If I understand this right if I am shooting hi def then it is automatically 16:9 right? I just got this camera and if anyone can help me with this part of the set up it would be great. I thank you in advanced.

Yes,
if you're shooting HDV then 16:9 is your only option.

BTW, the digital zoom on this and the HC7/9 cameras isn't too shabby. You'd want the camera on a tripod to use it.

EDIT: We and our local Sony repair centre is offering a reward to anyone who can figure out how to replace the microphone mount on this camera.
