OT: read & edit metadata in HDV files

A lot of folks have been looking for a tool similar to DVDate for HDV files.
If you have $40 to spare, DVMP Pro has finally come to your rescue :-)

From their page:
Plays files captured from a HDV and DV camcorder and displays the date and time stamp that was stored in the hidden metadata area of the file when the recording was originally shot. It also displays the timecode, user bits, and exposure settings such as iris/aperture, shutter speed, gain, image stabilizer and white balance - all displayed with frame accuracy as you play or frame-step through your HDV or DV file.

hi mike,

where do you dig all this info up?

looks interesting, though i'd be more interested (and pay more) if it batch captured hdv ;-) well, i live in hope.

how you doing up there? we're experiencing flooding in the north, bush fires in the south - thankfully we're in the middle, so the weather gets a bit of both, but neither to extremes....

ok - just downloaded the demo and it wont play m2t's created by vegas. didn't try camera footage as i forgot before uninstalling.... dumb i know, but...

That's great... I'll give it a look. But I should point out that HDVsplit can read the date/time and append it to the clip name as well..... it's free.
