OT: Rear Ported Laptop

I need to find a new, quality rear-ported laptop, where the power supply and at least two USB ports are available from the rear. We need it for a specific project that will not allow for side ports.

A few years back, this style was readily available and I'm sure the side port design has become the rule for a reason.

Anyone who can offer a company name that manufactures this design would be appreciated.

Thanks!

to increase your options check for docking stations for your laptop. Most laptops side ports are not directly anchored to the MB. One can extend these cables fairly easily if no laptop matches your hardware/cpu/disk/ requirements.

My wife's Acer Aspire 5610z has the power, two USB & a VGA out in the back.

You may also want to consider a docking station. My 2 year old HP laptop connects nicely to a docking station through a port on the bottom. This is not the same as a USB docking station. This one was made for this notebook series. All ports including power, video and several USB ports are on the back. Not at the office right now but thought I'd add this as a suggestion.

I found a Toshiba M115 that fits the bill perfectly.

Thanks!
