See RED One.

Beyond juicy specs, and I would give this highly qualified gang at least the benefit of the doubt that they can pull it off.

The greatest risk is in their easy access to substantial cash. This may make them feel that they have all the time in the world (which has sunk many other companies).

You can pony up $1000 on your credit card now to get a delivery position, currently you'd get #101.

You pony up but it is refundable. By the way, how do you know the pecking order. I called the number and got a message that they had so many calls they couldn't handle them all.

Think I'll wait for version 3.0.

As I understand it, that's $17,500 without a lens or recording deck. After it's all said and done, it ain't gonna be no "pony," but very large horse!

When the currency of technolgy is about 2 years then "future proofing" doesn't need to extend to infinity. What has been missing from current systems is the ability to upgrade other than buying the latest model. So here they're offering a modular system (so more expensive) where you can just change the portion that is deficient (or just inadequate for the current project). This has been the way with film cameras for a long time -- nice to see video catching on to the concept.
