OT - replacing wireless Lav system

I currently use a Sennheiser system: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=324243&is=REG&fromDisList=y

I'd like to replace it with a NON wireless solution. I also use a couple of Zoom recorders (H2n and H2). They are both a bit bulky to slip into a pocket, and the mic input doesn't lock as with the Sennheiser transmitter. So, any recommendations that fit the bill? Needs to be small, with the device itself lockable so that recording can't be accidentally switched off in the pocket, and preferably a secure connection/input for the Lav. Not asking much then. :-)

I use a Rode SmarLav. Very well built. Recorded sounds are good. We go into an iPhone using the Rode App, but I think this would work with any smartphone. Of course, the problem you might have is accidentally turning it off. A good case with some kind of cover could mitigate that. We haven't had a problem with ours, though. I explain to whomever is using it how to handle it. That seems to work. We also have other mics which we use when we can, just in case there's a problem. So far, there hasn't been but once. The iPhone had a glitch where something overdrove the signal for a few seconds. Very annoying, but our backup mics were clean enough to use that audio.

I have an H1 zoom. I can lock the record button so it will not turn off. Subjects can stick it in a pocket with no worries that it will turn off. Works well for me.

The H1 is huge in comparison to the Senny transmitter Xberk. A Groom's jacket inside pocket can be a bit on the small side - and often quite tight fitting.

Not heard of the SmartLav before, and at £35 it looks a bit of a bargain! As you say though, it looks like it could easily be turned off in a pocket. Not sure if I'd feel comfortable popping my phone into someone else's pocket either. :-)

For a small, foolproof, quality pocket recorder with mic input, the $150-250 Sony is great.
Buttons are a bit small for me, though . . .
