Maybe somebody can set me straight on new LCD monitors. The 24" LCD monitors in the $600.00 range claim 1920 x 1200 (1.6) display mode. When I check out the Gateway 24" 1080P monitor which has the same rating it will not display 1920 x 1080 (1.8). I find that I have to go to the 40" HDTV LCD 1080P sets with PC input to be able to display 1920 x 1080 at 60hz as my 46" XBR2 does. Now the new model Sony HDTV LCD's (XBR4), Sharp, JVC are all going to 120HZ refresh rate and I assume this is also the same rate with the PC input.
The question is do all of the 24" LCD monitors choke out when the video card jams it with 1920 x 1080? Some of the Pro monitors listed on B & H website state 1920 x 1080 video, 1920 x 1200 PC input.
