Eastman Kodak is offering a Master Seminar on "The New Super16" at the Kodak Screening Room in Hollywood, 9am-12noon this Sunday. (About 15 miles from LAX.).

Jon Fauer, ASC will be the tour guide through a toy store of new stuff: Arriflex 416, Aaton XTRProd2, Reflex a-cam Ikonoscope, new S16 Cooke, Canon and Zeiss lenses, accessories, video assists, support, cool retrofits for your old cameras, and more.

More info and enrollment here.

Super16 has had a major upsurge thanks to new, much better film stocks, and massive improvement in DI (Digital Intermediate) mastering.

Saves quite a bit of money over even 3-perf 35mm (where each frame is 3 perforations tall instead of the normal 4), and you're shooting real film with all its pains and joys.

I'm going because I'm scheduled to direct a S16 film in late August, and do DI and editing afterwards, and I want to pick up the latest on how to make it look the best possible.
